How it all started...

OUR STORY

HOW IT STARTED

Twenty-five years ago, my father, Darell Bunch Sr., began praying for a church to be born deep in the hills of rural Kentucky. With nothing but faith and a calling from God, he planted a ministry that would become a spiritual home for so many. Over the years, we saw lives changed, salvations, restored families, and generations growing in the love of Christ.

On December 18, 2023, my father finished his race and entered into eternal rest at the feet of the Lamb he faithfully served. At that time, my wife Whitney and I were serving as missionaries in Denver, Colorado. In the middle of that season, God made something clear: it was time to come home.

That decision carried weight. My own journey hadn't been simple. There were years of questions, distance, and disbelief, but God, in His mercy, never stopped pursuing me. In the very place where my story once felt broken, He called me into ministry.

Today, I have the honor of serving as Senior Pastor of the church my father started. And what we're seeing now isn't built on the past; it's the work of God in the present.

We're seeing people step into leadership.
We're seeing a deeper love for one another.
We're seeing a renewed commitment to make disciples.

God is breathing new life into MPF. What began as a prayer in the hills of Kentucky is still unfolding, and we believe the best chapters are still ahead.

OUR STORY CONTINUES

THE NEXT CHAPTER

As God began breathing new life into MPF, the ministry began to expand. What started with a small group of believers grew into a church increasingly committed to taking the Gospel beyond Sunday morning and into the lives of people around them.

That growth has opened doors to serve people in practical and meaningful ways. MPF has worked to feed the hungry, provide clothing for families in need, care for the homeless, invest in children and teenagers, and come alongside people during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives. These ministries are not separate from the Gospel. They flow from it. Because we have been loved by Christ, we want His love to become visible through the way we love and serve others.

But the heart of MPF is not simply meeting physical needs. A meal can satisfy hunger for a night. Clothing can keep someone warm. A helping hand can make a difficult season easier. But our greatest hope is that every act of compassion creates an opportunity to point someone toward Jesus.

The ministry continues to grow, the opportunities continue to change, and we believe God is still writing the story. What began as a church plant is becoming a church determined to make the Gospel known through both its words and its actions.

LOOKING AHEAD

WHERE WE'RE HEADED

We believe God is not finished with MPF. We are grateful for where we have been and excited about what He is doing now, but our eyes are fixed on what is ahead. Our desire is not simply to build a bigger church. We want to build faithful disciples who know Jesus, know His Word, and are prepared to carry the Gospel wherever God sends them.

We want to see children and teenagers grow into men and women who are unashamed of the Gospel. We want to strengthen families, develop leaders, plant seeds of faith throughout our community, and continue finding tangible ways to serve people who are hurting and in need. We want to be a church that is willing to go, willing to give, and willing to do whatever God asks of us for the sake of His Kingdom.

As MPF grows, some things will change. Ministries will develop. New leaders will emerge. New opportunities will come. But some things cannot change.

We will preach the Word.
We will proclaim the Gospel.
We will love people.
We will make disciples.
We will keep Jesus at the center of it all.

We do not know everything the next chapter will hold. But we know the One who is writing it, and we cannot wait to see what He does next.
