Twenty-five years ago, my father, Darell Bunch Sr., began praying for a church to be born deep in the hills of rural Kentucky. With nothing but faith and a calling from God, he planted a ministry that would become a spiritual home for so many. Over the years, we saw lives changed, salvations, restored families, and generations growing in the love of Christ.
On December 18, 2023, my father finished his race and entered into eternal rest at the feet of the Lamb he faithfully served. At that time, my wife Whitney and I were serving as missionaries in Denver, Colorado. In the middle of that season, God made something clear: it was time to come home.
That decision carried weight. My own journey hadn’t been simple. There were years of questions, distance, and disbelief, but God, in His mercy, never stopped pursuing me. In the very place where my story once felt broken, He called me into ministry.
Today, I have the honor of serving as Senior Pastor of the church my father started. And what we’re seeing now isn’t built on the past; it’s the work of God in the present.
We’re seeing people step into leadership.
We’re seeing a deeper love for one another.
We’re seeing a renewed commitment to make disciples.
God is breathing new life into MPF.
What began as a prayer in the hills of Kentucky is still unfolding, and we believe the best chapters are still ahead.
